Sekai k. Ward MFA, LMSW (she/her)
Founder, Therapist, & Clinical Supervisor
Prior to going into private practice Sekai worked at HelpSource, SafeHouse, SOS Community Services, and Lotus Consulting. Sekai holds a Certificate in Core Supervision from the NASW and provides clinical supervision to early career LLMSWs. Sekai is a volunteer with the Emerald Hill Children’s Home in Harare, Zimbabwe and HouseN2Home in Ann Arbor. She specializes in working with adults with depression, anxiety, complex trauma, low self-esteem, disordered eating, OCD, and domestic violence. As a bi-racial and bi-cultural woman born in Nigeria and raised in between the United States and Zimbabwe, Sekai is particularly passionate about working with those with multiple racial and cultural identities struggling to find a sense of belonging. Sekai utilizes a variety of evidence-based interventions such as CBT, DBT, Psychodynamic Therapy, Expressive Writing, Bibliotherapy, and Empowerment Therapy. She believes that empathy, the therapist’s use of self, and trust are critical components of a successful therapeutic relationship. Sekai holds an MFA in creative writing from Antioch - Los Angeles. Writing has carried Sekai through difficult times in her life and she now uses this creative art form as a therapeutic tool with clients seeking to develop a deeper understanding of themselves and their place in the world. Several times a year Sekai facilitates the online writing group Writing to Heal . In her spare time she enjoys DIY home improvement projects, reading, writing, and traveling back to Africa every chance she gets.

Najda Robinson-Mayer LMSW (she/her)
Therapist
Najda has extensive experience working with adults, young adults, older adults, and caregivers. She has additional expertise working with people who have Epilepsy and a conversion disorder of Psychogenic Non Epileptic Seizures/Functional Seizures (PNES/FS). Najda also has a special interest in working with adults who were adopted and interested in exploring their life experiences. Najda is well-versed in a variety of evidence-based interventions including Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Client Centered Therapy and Brief Psychotherapeutic. She is highly experienced in support group facilitation, crisis intervention, and working with clients struggling with homelessness, domestic violence, trauma, and substance abuse. She is a staunch advocate of children who are deaf and hard of hearing and has volunteered for Michigan Hands and Voices.

Diamond believes in building meaningful connections with everyone she works with, helping them identify strengths and overcome challenges so they can achieve their goals. She is committed to working collaboratively with individuals to understand their cultural values, beliefs, and practices and to integrate this understanding into the therapeutic work. Diamond’s philosophy is based on the belief that effective therapy requires a deep understanding and appreciation of how culture influences an individual's experiences and worldview. She strives to provide a safe, welcoming, and affirming space where clients can explore thoughts, feelings, and experiences without fear of judgment or discrimination. Diamond works with tweens, teens, young adults, and adults. She specializes in single parenting issues, anxiety, depression, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and work-life balance. She is particularly passionate about working with survivors of domestic violence.
